11 Elul: Wedding Date of R. Rashab

Today, 11 Elul, marks 130 years since the Chasunah of the Rebbe Rashab with Rebbetzin Shterna Sara, daughter of R. Yosef Yitzchok of Avrutch, a son of the Tzemach Tzedek.   The Chasuna was held on Motzei Shabbos, 11 Elul 5635, in Avrutch.  The Rebbe Maharash did not attend the wedding for various reasons, and the Chasan, the Rebbe Rashab, was accompanied only by his mother Rebbetzin Rivka.
