Sukkah Gemach in Alma Ata

 "

Sukkah Gemach in Alma Ata

The Bachurim-shluchim in Alma Ata, Kazakhstan have come up with a creative way to encourage local Jews to build sukkos.  The bachurim will maintain a sukkah gemach and will lend out sukkos to local Jews, or rent them at a nominal fee.  The bachurim will not only provide the wood and schach for the sukkos but will also set up and take down the sukkah at the home of each resident.  The shluchim hope that this project will help many more Jews fulfill the special mitzva of sitting in the sukkah.
