For many years, siyumim have been arranged during the 9 days to mitigate the negativity of Av through simcha. In 5751, the Rebbe initiated that we should arrange siyumim until Tu B'Av. In the Rebbe's words: If Moshiach should be delayed G-d forbid in the coming days... let them continue with the siyumim... until Tu B'Av (inclusive).. and connect the siyum with giving tzedaka. In the appropriate place, connect the siyum also with a festive meal and farbrengen. Siyumim are held nightly in 770 after maariv and can be seen live at 770live.com.
