The Two Line Version Tells it All
The Crown Heights Chronicle’s headline blares:

Cases Dismissed in Cornerstone Arrests;
Plaque Blowtorched Days Later

I don’t know whether the reporter noticed the connection between headline and subtitle, but anyone who knows anything about crime prevention certainly did.

I, too, reported on the two incidents (one & two), but out of order (i.e. the first event I learned of, and thus reported on, last) so I missed the proximity.

In retrospect, it's obvious.

Simply put: The students who, for several months were living with an impending criminal case over their heads did not commit any many major crimes. It follows, obviously, that several days after charges were dismissed they or their friends came back for another helping.

My comments:

#1 According to reports in your own blog the plaque was defaced few times over the last few months with criminal charges pending.
#2 You can't realy scare people with criminal charges when they believe they are doing G-d's will.Study history especialy history of Chabad Lubavitch.
#3 As the elected Gaboim of the 770 pointed out in the court papers one can't place a plaque on the wall of 770 with statements most of people in 770 see as against the Rebbe's teachings and excpect it to hang there undisturbed http://www.chabad.info/index.php?url=article_en&id=3694 .

PS:A chosid asked the Rebbe if the Macholikes between those who call themselves Mashichistim and those who call themselves non-Mashichistim is is a proper arguement and if it should be continued. Here is the answer that he recieved a letter from 13th of Sivan 5711 to the Union of Poalei Agudas Yisroel here is the letter itself:

here is the Russian translation and discussion about it where it was originaly posted

The bottom line of it that unity is important and is for the ultimate benifit of all involved.
You are welcome to post English translation of the letter and your comments here.
PS:What do you think this letter implies should be done as far as plaque on 770 cornerstone is concerned?

Didnt you say it. UNITY! SO why after years of having a plaque up did these people have to make a show?

#1 In actuality the exact words used in the letter are "united front"(for all religious parties in Yisrael). From what I learned about the issue discussed in the letter the Rebbe King Moshiach Shlit"a simply wanted parties to unite and vote together as one block (it didn't actually work because Brisker Rov was afraid to have Agudah be a minority in a block with Mizrachi in the majority the Rebbe King Moshiach Shlit"a then wanted Rabbi Porush to arrange it behind Brisker Rov's back but Rabbi Menachem Porush was afraid to do this.See "Conversations with the Rebbe" by Chaim Dalfin http://www.jewishinfo.org/books.htm#Conversations%20with%20the%20Rebbe).

#2 Reality is Yudel Krinsky changed the plaque to one with zi"a shortly after Gimel Tamuz (Specifically to make a stronger point what the "official" Chabad dogma is since there was no practical need to change the plaque. Whoever heard of changing cornerstone plaques to add zi"a ?!) and obviously it was immediately defaced by people who can't stand seeing Moshiach referred to as zi"a on the wall of 770 House of Moshiach, kind of like the students of Rabbi Yehudah haNossi saying "Whoever says the Rebbe is dead deserves to be stabbed by the sword" The Talmud it's commentaries and the Rebbe King Moshiach Shlit"a himself explain that this conduct was meritorious and as a result of their great faith Rabbi Yehudah was allowed from above to come down from Gan Eden in a body to his home and make kidush every Shabbos for the next 7 years kind of like the Rebbe King Moshiach Shlit"a is capable of showing up in Paris in February 1996 to save Jaques Mishele see http://www.moshiachforkids.com/story/story.html#mhmand other similar cases.
Yudel (and Gaboim) left it like that for 10 years.
see http://www.col.org.il/show_news.asp?7935and http://www.chabad.info/index.php?url=article_en&id=3694

#3 The type of unity described in the context of the Rebbe King Moshiach's Shlit"a letter is basically to present an appearance of unity to the outside by working together on issues we do agree on And trying to lobby together.
In the context of 770 plaque it might be to place a plaque which doesn't offend everybody probably something similar to what Gaboim sugested see http://www.chabad.info/index.php?url=article_en&id=3694
Yeah I know it just says "The Cornerstone" and the date it was placed by the Rebbe King Moshiach Shlit"a (I don't like it either) but for one thing it's better then having a plaque defaced so often to waste money of the Anash on "plaque security"(According to my calculations the salary of the guards by itself 24 hours a day 365 a year with some overtime is more than $100,000 a year not to mention spending money to constantly fix a plaque that as it's being defaced.Who is going to continue to donate money to Yudel if they know he spends so much guarding the plaque as opposed to saving Jews from assimilation, intermariage etc. as advertised in the Machne Yisroel fundrasing letters?Do you think most donors want their money spent to fight Yudel's battles to control 770?) not to mention the negative PR (Chilul Hashem?) from having police beating Jews (men women and sometimes children) in front of 770.
As a resultof the neutral plaque the Mashichist Shluchim will explain to their mekorovim they bring to 770 that this stone was placed by the Rebbe King Moshiach Shlit"a the non Mashiachistim will explain it was placed by the Rebbe Nosi Doreinu the "anti-Mashiachistim" will explain that it was placed by the Rebbe zi"a and of course Elokistim (like my friend Rabbi Avrohom Milchtein from Milwaukee Wisconsin) will explain that it was placed by the act of the Rebbe G-d Almighty [ since he and people in his congregation and other Elokistim feel this is the most proper and oifen hamiskabel way to reffer to the Rebbe King Moshiach Shlit"a bringing as a proof quotes from the Rebbe refering to Himself as Atzmus uMeheus Elokus and saying "Rebbe G-d Almighty" is the most oifen hamiskabel translation of it to simple English (I am not kidding!) and as strange as this may sound to you they also have quotes to prove their case from the Rebbe King Moshiach Shlit"a and even from Miteler Rebbe saying that during the time of Moshiach Jews will see G-d face to face litteraly with no intermediary to simply give over the words oif G-d to the people. And a quote from the Rebbe King Moshiach Shlit"a on the Kovetz on theHadran haRambam to the effect that in the time of Moshiach there will not be a halachik problem with saying G-d clothed himself in phisical body. See:http://www.livejournal.com/users/rabbiam/ and http://torah.5u.com/living-G-d.rtf] (as all of the above mentioned factions do anyway)
As result outsiders will be presented with much more peaceful and civil 770 and Chabad in general ( http://www.770live.com )
I think if the present situation doesn't improve Gaboim should put up the "neutral" plaque (even if they win the court case and are pressured to put up the Admo"r MH"M Shlit"a plaque ) as I know of as many or more "anti-Mashichist" kanoim (who already sometimes deface books and booklets with Yechi and Shlit"a in 770 ) who'd be moser nefesh to immediately deface it.
Others may probably disagree with me and say one shouldn't give in to vandalism (And this has been my position in the past as far as the plaque is concerned I felt that gaboim shouldn't compromise.) And we should put up a Moshiach plaque ( if the gaboim win the case) and guard it 24/7 since 770 is a Beis haMikdash and Beis haMikdash had guards for honor and to guard from the meshugoim and terrorists of all kinds.:-)
Ideally though as it says in "Hilchoso LeMeshicho" by Rabbi Heller and to me it seems very common sense King Moshiach should be referred by the title Admo"r Melech haMoshiach Shlit"a -Our Master our Teacher and our Rebbe King Moshiach Shlit"a (Moreinu veRabbeinu is added since he has not just Nesius of Malchus but also Nesius of Torah) to cause people to fulfill the mitzvah kovod ve'yirat haMelech - to honor and awe of the king .Rabbi Heller explains there Rabbi Akiva became nose keilim -armor bearer of Bar Kochba for the same reason to show by his own example that he believes Bar Kochba is Moshiach and others should do so to and treat him with awe and respect.
