On Wednesday evening, the "Hand to Special Needs Children" division of Agudas Chassidei Chabad in Israel held an event for parents of special needs children. Guest speaker was Dr. Shuki Shavit, a psychologist at the Asaf Harofeh Health Center, who spoke on the topic of "Educating for Independence according to the behaviorist theory." R. Yakov Feldman, educational consultant, then spoke on the relationships between special needs children and their siblings. At the end of the event, parents were invited to check out books from the recently opened library, containing a wealth of books on parenting and educational techniques especially for special needs children.
