| Kazakh President Impressed with Judaism | | |
This week a multicultural event was held in the city of Alma Ata, Kazakhstan. Various ethnic groups in Kazakhstan presented displays of their culture. The Jewish community was represented by the Rebbe's shluchim, R. Elchonon Cohen and R. Eliezer Lifshitz, and they produced a beautiful display of Jewish artifacts such as Seforim, Chanukah Menorah, Shofar, etc. The president of Kazakhstan, Mr. Narosultan Nazerbayev, who was the guest of honor at the event, spent a lot of time at the Jewish booth and engaged in conversation with the shluchim.
